Advent and Christmas Book List for 2014

I am a little too excited to bring out our Advent Read-Aloud Book Basket again this year.  For each day of Advent, the boys unwrap a book to read as a family and to help us prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of Christ.  This is our third year of sharing this meaningful tradition as a family.  A few of the books are new for 2014, specifically some that go along with our homeschool curriculum.  I also borrowed several from the library to try out, based on recommendations of other blogs.

In planning for this year's booklist, I kept referring back to the quick list I made last year and feeling grateful that I documented it... So once again, here is what we are reading for this year!

And for my own Advent reading, this year I am reading Joy to the World by Scott Hahn with Michael.  So far we are enjoying it.  The book explores differently aspects of the Christmas story in much more depth through scripture and historical context.
