Maybe every parent goes through this with their oldest, but Michael and I are constantly worried that Dominic will never (fill in the blank). He passionately resists, resists and resists until we give up on whatever we are trying to transition or teach him to do. He did it with sleep, potty training, giving up his pacifier and so many other day-to-day transitions.
And then one day, when he is ready, he does it.
No big deal. He just does it.
The other day Dominic rode his bike without training wheels for the first time.
After months of resisting the idea, he asked his Dad to take off the training wheels and started riding away, on his first try.
We were all outside to cheer him on!
