On the night of December 5th, the boys left out their shoes for St. Nicholas. Dominic was a little worried about our no-chimney-situation in our new house, but we convinced him that leaving his shoes by the backdoor would give the patron of children plenty of opportunity to visit.
Last year's shoes were replaced with new shoes filled with clementines and chocolate coins and candy canes, two new Advent books for our basket (Country Angel Christmas for Dominic and Room for a Little One for Gabriel), the latest Brother Francis DVD and a St. Nicholas coloring book.
We heard the boys running out of the bedroom early on Friday morning, ready to find out if their beloved St. Nicholas had come.
Life does not get much better than chocolate for breakfast!
